In late 1999 Hawaiian leased 3 DC-10 from Continental Airlines. The aircraft kept the basic CO scheme and while one of them was painted with standard Hawaiian titles, the other two gained additional 70 Years titles.

101 Dalmatians is a 1996 comedy film based on Walt Disney's animated 1961 movie adaptation of Dodie Smith's 1956 novel The Hundred and One Dalmatians. The decals were added in partnership with Belgacom, the largest telecommunications company in Belgium, and stayed for only about a month, just before the aircraft was withdrawn from use.

Two DC-10 and seven MD-83 had large titles applied in early 1996 to protest against the decision of the state-run airport authorities to move AOM from Orly-Ouest to the Orly-Sud older terminal facilities. Regional carrier TAT also added similar decals to some of its aircraft. The petition signed by numerous passengers did not change the outcome and AOM moved to Orly-Sud effective April 1996.

The Peter Pan Flights were the result of a collaboration between JAS and tour operator Kinki Nippon Tourist to support fund raising for the Tokyo branch of the Peter Pan Children's Fund. Princess Diana was also involved in the charity.

Fund raising flights were operated on international services linking Japan with destinations including Honolulu, Brisbane and Denpasar/Bali, with the first service taking place on September 2, 1995.

Moomins are the central characters in a series of books and a comic strip by Swedish-speaking Finnish illustrator and writer Tove Jansson. These characters are popular in Japan hence the choice of widebodies. The livery was applied to 2 DC-10 in 1995 and from 1996 the same decals were seen on MD-11 OH-LGC ; every winter the aircraft had Santa Claus stickers instead (see separately), with the Moomins back for the rest of the year, every year until 1999.

France had a team participating in the 1995 Louis Vuitton Cup between January and April 1995 in San Diego, whose winner was to challenge the USA in the 29th America's Cup. In the end the French team failed to live up to expectations and winner New Zealand swept all five races to take the cup away from the US for only the second time in 144 years. Most of the aircraft in the AOM fleet at the time gained the decals.

On June 4, 1994 JAL unveiled JA8111, the first "Super Resort Express" (SRE) 747 with Tropical colours, flowers and birds. It mostly flew on the route to Honolulu; 4 Classic 747 were later joined by 3 DC-10 of affiliate JAZ Japan Air Charter in the Purple/Lilac variation of the livery. Note JA8106 was an early-built -200 series with only 3 windows on the upper deck.

Note the Japan Air Charter titles had already been replaced by JALways on the DC10 picture when the JAL subsidiary was rebranded, later gaining billboard JALways titles instead of JAZ ones.

Varig added large markings to support the national football team for the first time on the occasion of the 1994 World Cup held in the USA. Initially PP-VMD had green & yellow stripes around the fuselage, "O avião da Seleção" titles and mascot on the engines as well as the 3 stars on top of the Brazil titles just aft of the front door representing the 3 first victories of the team in the World Cup.

After Brazil won its 4th title on 17th July a 4th "tetra" star and titles on the rear part of the fuselage were added to celebrate the victory. Note at least two 737-300 also had small logos & titles for the event (PP-VOT & PP-VTA), being used for the transportation of the team between the venues in the US. VOT also later gained "Tetra" titles.
