Volaris began operations in Central America in 2015 through Volaris Mexico (Y4). In 2016 Volaris Costa Rica was launched (Q6) and in 2019 Volaris El Salvador was founded. The subsidairy begun operating the San Salvador-Mexico City route in September 2021 with the San Salvador-Cancun and San Salvador-San Pedro Sula following. The airline efforts to increase tourism to the country are supported by the Salvadoran government, hence the flag livery.

Another partnership between Volaris and Warner Bros saw the airline promote the release of the standalone sequel of 1996 animated movie Space Jam. The film is a combination of live-action, traditional hand-drawn animation, and 3D CGI effects. It features basketball player LeBron James and the Looney Tunes. The cabin was also decorated accordingly and animations were performed on selected flights. Note the two sides showed different decals.

Volaris paid tribute to the navy personnel who participated in the rescue and reconstruction work of the September 19 earthquake by placing a photograph of the Frida dog on one of its planes. Frida was part of the Semar Navy rescue team and became known for its "sixth sense" for finding humans. Over the course of her career, she’s rescued 12 people after earthquakes and other disasters in Mexico, Haiti and Ecuador. Volaris also participated in the rescue effort by transporting rescue teams.
