This very short-lived boxing kangaroo decal replaced the Qantas tail logo during 5 days only in October 1983, on the occasion of the return from the US of the crew of the Australia II racing yacht who had just won the 1983 America's Cup. The Australian victory meant the end of 132 years of U.S. domination of the racing series.

Low-fare operator Northeastern was initially flying from points in the US' northeast to sunspots in Florida and later in the West. The airline painted two of its ex-Pan Am 727s with clouds liveries to raise brand awareness. The venture was relatively short-lived though, and rapid expansion led to a quick bankruptcy in 1985. The pink version was nicknamed "Rosie".

Brazilian singer Roberto Carlos chartered a VASP 737 for his 1982 tour "Projeto Emoções". The partnership also involed Haspa bank and the airline displayed its brand logo in the stadiums and on promotional material.
