ZS-SXD A340-313 South African  [+] 2012-19+24-

In early 2012 SAA issued a public competition challenging South African teenagers aged 13-21 to design “an iconic visual which captures the spirit of South Africa.” 21-year old Adri le Roux, a first year design student at Stellenbosch University, won the contest. Her colourful drawings of swimmers, runners and footballers was applied to the A340 in time for the aircraft to carry the SA delegation to London for the Summer Games. The aircraft was named Siyanqoba, which is Zulu for "We conquer". This livery was the 2010s equivalent of Ndizani and was used extensively by SAA for PR duties until its retirement in late 2019. The aircraft returned to service in late 2024.
