This aircraft was the fifth Peony Blossom Jet to be unveiled and the aircraft is based in Chongqing. It is one of the frames used on routes to Taiwan (for that reason note the usual PRC flag is missing).

The livery was a stylized take on a peony blossom (the national flower), which is a traditional Chinese pattern, symbol among others of grace, prosperity and luxury. These visually pleasing liveries were part of a broader initiative aiming at improving service to customers while developping the image of a "blooming" national carrier. The initiative also included the special painting of two A330s to promote high-end products, as well as a Phoenix and two Auspicious Cloud liveries.

This A321 was the second of two painted in a special Panda scheme to promote tourism to Sichuan as the carrier's Southwest (Sichuan) branch was launching Chengdu-Taipei flights (which explains the absence of the usual PRC flag next to the Air China titles). This second design features traditional Chinese ink painting style. The Sichuan province is known for its Panda bears. Note the English titles on the starboard side.

The red, orange and yellow patterns at the rear of the plane refer to another Sichuan attraction, the Golden Sun Bird artifact, an ancient ring-shaped piece of foil made of nearly pure gold that was unearthed in 2001 from the Jinsha Ruins in Chengdu City. The artifact is now visible at the Chengdu Jinsha Ruins Museum. On a sidenote it is also the logo of competitor Chengdu Airlines.

This aircraft is a former CNAC-Zhejiang aircraft; in November 2008 it became the second airframe unveiled in the Peony scheme. It was based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang like sistership B-2377 and was one of the frames used on routes to Taiwan (for that reason note the usual PRC flag was missing).

The livery was a stylized take on a peony blossom (the national flower), which is a traditional Chinese pattern, symbol among others of grace, prosperity and luxury. The added mica powder created a satin-like look evoking Chinese silk. These visually pleasing liveries were part of a broader initiative aiming at improving service to customers while developping the image of a "blooming" national carrier. The initiative also included the special painting of two A330s to promote high-end products, as well as a Phoenix and two Auspicious Cloud liveries.

The carrier's 55th anniversary was the occasion to celebrate the legacy of the company: after an intern selection process, the airline management chose the livery worn in the late sixties/early seventies, taking a VEB-14 (Il-14) as a model. In 2009 the 55th anniversary tail titles were replaced by the airline logo; that lasted until 2013 when 60th anniversary titles were added on top of the tail logo. In March 2020, titles were changed to "66 Years". After a year of storage & maintenance in 2023/24, the titles were updated to 70 Years in late 2024.

A partnership between TUIfly and German confectionery company Haribo developped in December 2008 when this 737 was painted all blue with red Haribo billboard titles. A giant yellow "Gold-Bear" mascot was visible on the tail; the Haribo company had sold its first Gummy bears in the 1920s and the well-known gold variant that we know today -the one the Haribo mascot on the tail refers to- appeared in 1967. The aircraft became the first flying ambassador for the company, and its success prompted the design of two further liveries in 2010 & 2015.

"Sichuan people thank Taiwanese compatriots for their selfless assistance during the May 12 earthquake". This livery features a newspaper expressing Sichuan people’s great appreciation to the huge support from Taiwan in the May 2008 earthquake relief. The livery was created on the occasion of the launch of the maiden Chengdu-Taipei flight on Decembrer 26, 2008.

A typical Sichuan Hibiscus flower was displayed on both engines as a symbol of harmony.
