This aircraft is a former CNAC-Zhejiang aircraft; in November 2008 it became the second airframe unveiled in the Peony scheme. It was based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang like sistership B-2377 and was one of the frames used on routes to Taiwan (for that reason note the usual PRC flag was missing).
The livery was a stylized take on a peony blossom (the national flower), which is a traditional Chinese pattern, symbol among others of grace, prosperity and luxury. The added mica powder created a satin-like look evoking Chinese silk. These visually pleasing liveries were part of a broader initiative aiming at improving service to customers while developping the image of a "blooming" national carrier. The initiative also included the special painting of two A330s to promote high-end products, as well as a Phoenix and two Auspicious Cloud liveries.
