In late 2021 Etihad followed Emirates in celebrating the UAE's 50th anniversary. On December 2, 1971, six of the emirates (Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain) agreed to enter into a union called the United Arab Emirates. A6-XWB was also in the static display of the 2021 Dubai Airshow.

This Boeing/Etihad co-branded Dreamliner will be used to test products, procedures and initiatives designed to reduce aircraft carbon emissions, and explore and assess environmental sustainability initiatives. The graduated blue tones of this design are said to represent "the importance of water in Arabic life and culture" and symbolise the "blue sky thinking needed to deliver practical, incremental initiatives to progressively lower fuel consumption and carbon emissions."

Starting 2019 ADNOC launched service stations in Saudi Arabia. This scheme is made of traditional Islamic calligraphy and Mashrabiya latticework was unveiled on Saudi Arabia's 89th National Day in September 2019. Note the titles are in English on the port side and in Arabic on the starboard side.

The Special Olympics World Summer Games is a multi-sport event for athletes with intellectual disabilities in the tradition of the Special Olympics movement. The 2019 edition was held in Abu Dhabi in March with Etihad a sponsor of the event in partnership with ADNOC whose logo was displayed on the engines. Four UAE athletes competing at the Games were displayed on the plane: runner Hamda Alhosani, bowlers Saleh Almarri and Mariam Al Hosani as well as swimmer Omar Al Shami.

Etihad unveiled this special livery to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in late November 2018. The aircraft participated in a low-level fly-by at the Formula 1 race, accompanied by the airline’s Year of Zayed liveried Airbus A380. Note the "low-viz" variation of the Etihad scheme.
