Maya the Bee is the main character in The Adventures of Maya the Bee, a German book, comic book series and animated television series, first written by Waldemar Bonsels and published in 1912. In 2014 a 3D German-Australian computer-animated movie based on the character was released in theaters. Note the small decals near the rear doors were different on both sides; for a limited time the airline also distributed coloring books, crayons and other products on board for all children.

It is based on the 1970s previously ZDF channel animated series of the same name; both series go back to the Vicky The Viking children's book series of Swedish author Runer Jonsson.
