Avianca celebrated 90 years in 2009 with special markings on two brand new aircraft. Note the decals remained on the A320 past the 95 years mark without being updated!
The Daily News is a newspaper published every morning by the Tianjin Daily Newspaper Group. It is the most influential paper in the Tianjin area and has nationwide influence.
Note the aircraft still carried the Grand China Express dragon logo. This logojet showed the partnership between the newspaper group and the airline.
Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy and Donald Duck celebrated Alaska’s long-term partnership with Disneyland Resorts. This aircraft replaced sistership N784AS. As the aircraft was longer than the dash 400 it replaced, Pluto could be added among the characters.
Korean Air has a tradition of sponsoring some of the world's largest museums. The partnership with London's British Museum was celebrated with this livery, replacing the Louvre Mona Lisa livery. In December 2009 Korean Air's sponsorship allowed the museum to release a new Multimedia Guide available in eleven languages (including Korean, of course). Note the museums' highlight masterpieces were presented on what are in fact consonants of the Hangul (Korean) alphabet.
China Southern’s home city hosted the Asian Games in 2010. Over 9'000 athletes from 45 National Olympic Committees competed in 28 Olympic sports and 14 non-Olympic sports. China set a new Games record with 199 gold medals. The mascots of the Games were the five sporty rams, whose names, when read together meant the auspicious words "harmony, blessings, success and happiness".
This aircraft was used to carry the Olympic torch across the country. Unlike the 10 PW-powered A330-223 based in CAN, this -243 aircraft is assigned to the Beijing branch and flies mainly domestic and Asian services (like its 5 RR-powered sisterships).
When the original Torísimo 747 was retired, AeroSur updated the scheme and applied this yellow bull to its new flagship aircraft. The bull is an iconic animal in Bolivia.
Promoting the Kidd's Kids charity launched by late Kidd Kraddick, a syndicated radio personality.
In November 2014 the airline celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Kraddick Foundation. Thanks to the generosity of the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show listeners, 54 kids and their families went to Disney World on the Kidd's Kids plane.
The 2009, 2010 & 2011 editions had very similar, partly yellow decals. In 2012 the logo colour was amended to yellow & orange and again to orange for the 2013 & 2014 editions. Note the aircraft was in the new scheme starting with the 2014 edition.
