Fête des Vignerons 2019

Fête des Vignerons 2019
by Fichtre
HB-JCA CSeries 300 Swiss 2019

In 2018 Swiss artist Mathias Forbach (known as Fichtre) was again commissioned by the airline to design a new livery for JCA. This time the scheme anticipates the 2019 Fête des Vignerons, a traditional festival which takes place in Vevey on the shores of Lake Geneva since 1797. It is organised a maximum of five times each century, the last edition having been the 1999 one.

The Fête des Vignerons pays tribute to the centuries-old winegrowing tradition of an entire Swiss region through a spectacular event and the coronation of the vineyard hands. The artist (who is from Vevey) mixed the iconic smileys he is known for with renderings of the lake, and among others music notes, cotillions and starlings. The latter are a sympbol of the Fête when swarms gather above the vines in autumn. Both sides are different. The scheme is expected to remain on the aircraft until November 2019.

HB-JCA CSeries 300 Swiss 2017-18

In June 2017 Swiss dedicated its first CSeries 300 to its Geneva base with this livery aimed at representing the pride of the Romandy (French-speaking) region. Answers given to Swiss by customers to the "What does French-speaking Switzerland represent for you?" question on social media served as a base for local artist Mathias Forbach (known as Fichtre) to design this unique scheme. It included words, landmarks & symbols of the region. The work of the artist can be seen here.

Promoting Crossair's hub operations at Basel/Mulhouse EuroAirport, dubbed "EuroCross". The special livery was worn on the port side only of the two aircraft. Note at first small titles read "now over 520 jumps!" and numbers were changed as connection opportunities developped at the Basel airport. The special liveries were kept after the launch of Swiss which also meant the dismantling of the Basel hub.

HB-IZZ Saab 2000 Crossair » Swiss 1997-05

Concordino was the nickname of the Saab 2000 at Crossair. It refered to the Concorde as the Saab 2000 is one of the quickest turboprops. After the demise of Swissair and the launch of Swiss the Saab fleet became part of the latter; this aircraft was flown for another three years in its full original Crossair special scheme.
