VT-EPK was painted completely in red for the World Aids (HIV) Day on December 1st, 2007. It was one of the early built A320s for Indian Airlines, specially equipped with tandem main landing gear. Note the lower part of the wings, flaps fairings and even flaps were painted in red as well.

British Hard Rock band Iron Maiden used this 757 for their Somewhere In Time World Tour 2008. Their mascot Eddie is featured on the tail. The aircraft was named "Ed Force One" and used callsign AEU666. Bruce Dickinson, the band's vocalist, is a qualified 757 pilot. For the 2009 end of the tour, the same livery (with lighter blue) was applied again to the aircraft. In 2011 another aircraft had a different scheme (see separately).

Virgin America teamed up with fashion company Victoria's Secret for its yearly fashion show held on 15 November 2007. The airline carried 27 of its models from New York to Los Angeles on a special flight. Titles were short-lived yet the aircraft nas kept its "Runway Angel" name since.

Iberia unveiled a retro livery to mark the 80th anniversary of its first flight which had taken place in 1927. On December 13, 2007, EC-KKS performed the flight that marked the launch of Iberia operations 80 years earlier: Madrid-Cuatro Vientos to Barcelona. The aircraft also performed a low-pass at Cuatro Vientos on that day.

The most popular concept of a lei in Hawaiian culture is a wreath of flowers presented upon arriving or leaving as a symbol of affection. This concept was popularized through tourism between the Hawaiian Islands and the continental United States in the 19th and 20th centuries.

An orchid lei was initially added to the tails of the airline’s 10 first ETOPS-certified 737-800s in late 2007 to celebrate the launch of services to Hawaii. The move proved to be popular and more aircraft have had the lei added since. N538AS with an orchid lei on its tail was actually the very last aircraft in the original 90s "icicle" livery in April 2022 when it was finally repainted in the 2016 scheme.
