China Eastern is the official airline of the 2025 Asian Winter Games taking place in Harbin, Heilongjiang. The two sides of both aircraft show title in English on the starboard side and the mascots of the event on the port side. They are named Binbin and Nini and are a pair of Siberian tigers. The A320 is one of 12 operated by the Gansu branch of the airline headquartered in Lanzhou in Northern China.

The partnership between the Shanghai Disney Resort and China Eastern continued in May 2024 with the launch of a 5th special Disney livery featuring characters from Zootopia. This is to promote the eighth themed land launched at the Shanghai park in late 2023: "City of Zootopia".

This A320 is one of only 5 operated by the Xiamen branch of the airline.

Like China Southern, China Eastern is also an official partner of the 46th Shanghai Skills Competition. The core pattern of the scheme is the Mortise and tenon which usually connect two pieces of wood or of materials and symbolize the spirit of craftsmen. The "Nengneng" and "Qiaoqiao" mascots representing craftsmen are also visible on the front fuselage.

The China International Import Expo (CIIE) is a trade fair held in autumn annually since 2018 in Shanghai. The expo is co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Shanghai Municipal Government and "has the purpose of replacing US products with products from other countries". In mid-2020 China Eastern teamed up with the Expo team to promote the 3rd CIIE taking place in November 2020; B-2002 is referred to as the "Jinbo" (进博) aircraft, Jinbo being a short name for the CIIE. The livery features Jinbao (进宝), the panda mascot of the event.

The aircraft was painted at the Kunming Yunnan base of the airline, however the aircraft is currently in use at the main (Shanghai) branch of the airline.

B-306F is A320 Family msn 8888 and was delivered to China Eastern on April 29, 2019 as the 88th aircraft assembled at the Tianjin Plant. It is also the 66th A320 Family aircraft assigned to China Eastern Jiangsu, which is based in Nanjing. These are three very auspicious numbers in China and they were celebrated with a short-lived decal on the plane.

As of the end of March 2019, China Eastern has operated a total of 371 Airbus aircraft, including 311 A320 series aircraft.

The partnership between the Shanghai Disney Resort and China Eastern went further in April 2018 with the launch of the first Toy Story-themed aircraft. Toy Story Land, the park's 7th themed land, was opened on the day of the aircraft unveiling. The land features three new attractions and is full of oversized toys from the cartoon. There is also a Toy Story Hotel in the park. Sheriff Woody and Buzz Lightyear are feartured on the plane.

China Eastern teamed up with Tencent Games to promote Moonlight Blade, a Chinese massively multiplayer online martial art game (MMO). The front decal showed Kazakh singer Dimash Kudaibergen who is the performer of "Ocean over Time", the game's theme song. Short-lived decals, and on the port side only.

The decals were added a month after the aircraft was assigned to the Northwest branch based in Xi'an.

The special decal was applied for a few weeks only when China Cargo performed special charters to carry cherries grown in the Washington state to the Yangtze River Delta market. The 777 carried about 100 tons of fresh fruit between Seattle and Ningbo per flight. The 10-hour only transportation permitted to deliver very fresh fruits to the cities of Shanghai and Hangzhou.

China Eastern was a sponsor of this Summit together with Internet company Tencent. It took place in Hangzhou, Zhejiang in April 2017 and the decals remained 3 months on this A321. This frame was the second A321 assigned to the Zhejiang branch of China Eastern which operates about 20 A320/A321 from the province. The Zhejiang branch was created in 2009 from the merger of the Ningbo branch (itself the successor of Air Great Wall) and the Hangzhou & Wenzhou branches.

China Eastern teamed up with the newly founded Shanghai Disney Resort in time for its opening to the public which took place in June 2016. The airline acts as the official carrier to bring tourists to the Disney theme park, and sells flight+hotel+ticket packages. The scheme displays the Shanghai fairy tale castle, which is the highhest of all Disney castles in the world. Mickey and Minnie Mouse welcome the passengers on the front part of the plane.

A total of 6 planes (in different Disney schemes) are expected to be painted by China Eastern. A330 B-6120 was withdrawn from use in November 2017 and replaced by sistership B-6507.
