France had a team participating in the
1995 Louis Vuitton Cup between January and April 1995 in San Diego, whose winner was to challenge the USA in the
29th America's Cup. In the end the French team failed to live up to expectations and winner New Zealand swept all five races to take the cup away from the US for only the second time in 144 years. Most of the aircraft in the AOM fleet at the time gained the decals.
