Qantas was calling all Wallabies rugby team fans to enter the Great Crusade competition and win their chance to be part of the ultimate supporter's tour of New Zealand.

Between 1997 and 2001, Qantas was the main sponsor of the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, which was known as the "Qantas Australian Grand Prix". This fully painted special livery was unveiled in January 2000 in time for the 2000 GP. This Jumbo was adequately named "The City of Melbourne".

This very short-lived boxing kangaroo decal replaced the Qantas tail logo during 5 days only in October 1983, on the occasion of the return from the US of the crew of the Australia II racing yacht who had just won the 1983 America's Cup. The Australian victory meant the end of 132 years of U.S. domination of the racing series.
