The second aircraft to ever wear a golden Tsurumaru logo (after A350 JA06XJ in 2021) was this 787 unveiled to celebrate the participation of the Japanese athletes in the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics & Paralympics, the former which were about to end.

JAL unveiled its final logojet for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics just a few days prior to the opening of the Games. It was the third of the "Fly for it! - Everybody's Jal 2020 Jet" series, and for the very first time the Tsurumaru logo was painted gold on a JAL aircraft. This was to show the airline's support to the Japanese athletes, of whom 16 were displayed on the two sides of this A350 flying domestic routes: the decals included, on the port side, from left to right: Kazuma Kaya, Maai Murakami, Daiki Hashimoto and Kohei Uchimura (Gymnastics), Kei Nishikiori (Tennis), Nasa Hataoka (Golf), Takuya Haneda (Canoe), Ayumu Uekusa (Judo) and Hiroaki Kasai (Wheelchair Basketball). The starboard side included from the front: Kano Nijiki (Fencing), Kitaguchi Haruka and Tobe Naoto (Athletics), Abe Shi, Uta Abe and Shohei Ohno (Judo) as well as Yui Kamiji (Wheelchair Tennis).

Supporting the Japanese athletes during the Summer Olympics of Rio de Janeiro. Approximately 10’000 pictures submitted by employees and the public with the "cheering" theme were merged to form the mosaic titles of the "Support from altitude 10’000 meters" project.

JAL showed increased support to the Japanese National Olympic Team in anticipation of the 2020 Summer Olympics to be held in Tokyo after the city was chosen to host the Games. Ohno Satoshi, leader of pop band Arashi, designed this "Hope for the future" decal which included a rainbow, flowers, birds and Mt. Fuji, celebrating the vitality to be brought to the Japanese society by the Games.

This special livery was unveiled to support the Japanese National Team for the 2012 London Olympics. Gymnast Kohei Uchimura was featured on the rear of the aircraft. After he won the gold medal in London the aircraft got small additional titles "おめでとう!金メダル!" for "Congrats! Gold Medal!".

The 2008 edition of the "Go for it, Japan!" featured Olympians Daichi Suzuki & Kyoko Iwasaki (swimmers), Shinji Morisue (gymnast), Yasuhiro Yamashita and Toshihiko Koga (judokas), Yuko Arimori (marathon) as well as Mikako Kotani (synchronized swimming) with their messages encouraging the new generation for the Beijing Olympics.

JAL’s participation in the Olympics dates back to 1964 when the airline carried the Olympic Torch for the Summer Olympics held in Tokyo. Since the 1996 Games in Atlanta JAL is the official airline of the Japan Olympic Committee (JOC) and is the official carrier of the athletes and officials participating in the events. The first special decal was only unveiled in 2000 though, with the Ganbare! Nippon!, Go for it, Japan! motto in time for the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.
