A brand new E175LR was delivered to Horizon Air in a retro scheme with Alaska titles. While Horizon Air aircraft usually have registrations ending with the airline's IATA code QX, this one ends with MK, as a tribute to founder Milton "Milt" G. Kuolt.

The 2022 holiday-inspired Alaska plane embraced the reason for the season: giving. Miles donated to the Care Miles program help charities with business travel and accommodation among others. The airline and Mileage Plan members have donated 40+ million miles to charities in 2022 through this program.

A winter season scheme featuring coffee cups in partnership with Starbucks; reusable holiday cups and treats were given to passengers on a series of flights, however Starbucks products were not available onboard the aircraft. Note the titles were different on the two sides of the fuselage.

Alaska is a partner of the Boeing ecoDemonstrator program, which saw this aircraft test flight about 20 new technologies to "enhance the safety and sustainability of air travel". This aircraft tested a new halon-free fire-extinguishing agent that significantly reduces effects on the ozone layer, an engine nacelle designed to reduce noise as well as cabin sidewalls made from recycled material, among others. The decals depicted sunset over the Pacific Northwest mountains. The aircraft was showcased at the 2021 Dubai Airshow and flew there via London (still with its test reg N60436). Decals were removed before delivery of the plane as N979AK.

This Q400 was unveiled in March 2019 in the commuter airline's early 1980s scheme. Small titles celebrating the airline's 40th anniversary were added next to the front door in 2021. The aircraft operated the airline's last Q400 service in January 2023.

Ship 569 was painted in a retro livery to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the airline in 2007. The livery seen here is adapted from what was used on the DC-3s and other aircraft from the early 1940s until after World War II.

Although it could hardly be seen in the distance, the signatures of 8,500+ Alaska Airlines employees were displayed on this 737 between two green ribbons. A small «Flight Path» logo was visible on the winglets of the 737. Flight Path is the in-house training program which led to the creation of this livery. The small «Flight Path» logo was visible under the cockpit windows on the Horizon Air Dash 8 which joined the 737 later in the year.

Hawaiian Orchid Lei

The most popular concept of a lei in Hawaiian culture is a wreath of flowers presented upon arriving or leaving as a symbol of affection. This concept was popularized through tourism between the Hawaiian Islands and the continental United States in the 19th and 20th centuries.

An orchid lei was initially added to the tails of the airline’s 10 first ETOPS-certified 737-800s in late 2007 to celebrate the launch of services to Hawaii. The move proved to be popular and more aircraft have had the lei added since. N538AS with an orchid lei on its tail was actually the very last aircraft in the original 90s "icicle" livery in April 2022 when it was finally repainted in the 2016 scheme.

Promoting the airline’s website. The marketing campaign associated with this special airline livery was a vacation package give away, in which the winner could use the aircraft with friends and fly to Mexico to party. The aircraft thus got the 'Party Jet' nickname. The 734 was replaced by a 738 in 2005.

The eskimo of these aircraft were wearing sunglasses! This was part of the California Dreaming campaign at Alaska in 1988-89, which aimed at promoting the launch of additional frequencies between the San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California. California-focused operations were inherited from the buyout of Long Beach-based Jet America Airlines, which was merged into Alaska Airlines on October 1, 1987. Additional airframes may have worn this special scheme.
