This special livery was unveiled after UNESCO registered the Jomon archaeological sites in the northeastern part of Hokkaido (Aomori, Iwate & Akita prefectures) as a World Cultural Heritage Site. The Jōmon period is the time in Japanese prehistory, traditionally dated between c. 14,000–300 BCE. The scheme incorporates drawings of children from the Aomori prefecture representing artefact from the Jomon sites.
