The Royal British Legion is a British charity providing financial, social and emotional support to members of the British Armed Forces, veterans and their dependants. The poppy is their logo, as WWI created prime conditions for poppies to flourish in battlefields in Flanders and north-west France. The flower became the
symbol of remembrance when Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae wrote the In Flanders Fields poem, which was widely shared in the English-speaking world. The decals were applied in time to commemorate Remembrance Day on November 11th which marked the end of World War I in 1918.
Starting 2000 the decal was added on the fuselage with 3 different 757 sporting the decals for the 2000, 2001 & 2002 commemorations.
