On August 8, 2024, Qitai Jiangbulake Airport officially opened with two routes out of Xinjiang: Qitai-Lanzhou-Chengdu and Qitai-Zhengzhou-Fuzhou. The latter is operated by Chengdu Airlines and this A320 features special decals on the occasion. The Jianbulake area is a scenic spot near Qitai Town north of the Tian Shan mountains, and Qitai was an important spot along the ancient Silk Road.
