This scheme is the 5th variation of the panda scheme at Sichuan Airlines. The aircraft was finally flown to China in June 2024, although it had performed its first flight and was delivered in fall 2023. The panda cub featured is Sanyou 三优, the giant panda adopted by the airline and now its official mascot. San (三) is chinese for three and the cub's name was chosen to match the airline's IATA code "3U". The arrival of new generation widebodies at Sichuan Airlines also marks an additionnal step in the "Panda Route" network expansion program (note the additional titles aft of the wing). The cabin is also decorated extensively with pandas.
