This scheme is the third variation of the panda scheme at Sichuan Airlines. Although it performed its first flight in December 2021, the aircraft was not flown to China until December 2022.The panda cub featured is Sanyou 三优, the giant panda adopted by the airline and now its official mascot. San (三) is chinese for three and the cub's name was chosen to match the airline's IATA code "3U". The arrival of new generation widebodies at Sichuan Airlines also marks an additionnal step in the "Panda Route" network expansion program (note the additional titles aft of the wing). The cabin is also decorated extensively with pandas.
