In August 2021 Emirates unveiled the first of a series of aircraft sporting a special scheme to celebrate the UAE's 50th anniversary (Golden Jubilee). Indeed, on 2 December 1971, six of the emirates (Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain) agreed to enter into a union called the United Arab Emirates. The golden livery shows Arabic titles on the port side and English titles on the starboard side, in a similar fashion to Singapore Airline's 1997 Golden Jubilee livery.
