Symphonic Silk Road - Ruyi Gansu

In mid-2021 Loong Air teamed up with the Gansu Province culture and tourism board to promote the region. Gansu Province is located West in the country and has Lanzhou as capital city. Loong Air started the Nanjing-Yan'an-Lanzhou and Hangzhou-Enshi-Lanzhou East-West routes in April 2021 as an initiative to build the "Air Silk Road".
B-1867 "Ruyi" & B-1868 "Feitian" both feature Feitian or Flying Apsaras, female spirits of the clouds and waters in Hindu and Buddhist mythology. Some of these creatures can be seen on the walls of decorated caves in Gansu province (notably in the Mogao & Yulin caves). The scheme also includes auspicious peony flowers in their traditionnal "Ruyi" shape, as well as the nine-color god deer, which is also depicted in the Gansu caves.
Although the "Ruyi" and "Feitian" aircraft bear different names, the design is the same with the exception of the background colour; on a side note, Apsaras are depicted with a relatively similar design on 4 China Eastern (Gansu branch) A320 since 2014 (see here).
