In late 2019 Qantas unveiled a special livery in anticipation of its 100th anniversary celebrations. The red wave is accompanied by a the Qantas logos over the course of the times. QANTAS, for Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services, was founded in Queensland on November 20, 1920.
This airframe was delivered to Qantas via London and it performed one of three ultra-long-haul route proving flights, linking London Heathrow to Sydney in a bit more than 19 hours with 39 passengers onboard. The flight mirrored the one performed by the airline's very first 747-400 VH-OJA thirty years earlier (see here the "We Go Further" entry).
