China Airlines launched this special livery to promote the Kaohsiung to Kumamoto service. Taiwan, the City of Kaohsiung and the Kumamoto province in Japan all have bears as mascots and CAL gathered them on a funny design. From left to right on the port side the characters were OhBear (Taiwan), Kumamon (Kumamoto) and Hero (Kaohsiung). The left side also showed Kyushu landmarks namely the
Kumamoto Castle and
Mt. Aso volcano. The starboard side displayed Kaohsiung's
85 Sky Tower. The interior of the aircraft also included customized headrest covers, and special three bear products and meals were available onboard the plane.
