In 2019 JTA organized a children drawing competition in cooperation with the Okinawa Prefecture tourism authorities to promote the campaign for a designated area in Okinawa & Kagoshima Prefectures to be registered a World Natural Heritage Site in Summer 2020. The area consists of Amami Ōshima Island, Tokunoshima Island, the northern part of Okinawa Island and Iriomote Island. The drawing contest was held for elementary and junior high school students in Kunigami, Ogimi, Higashi and Taketomi, villages and towns which are recommended areas in Okinawa Prefecture. Note both sides showed 2 different drawings; RAC Ryukyu Air Commuter Dash 8Q-402 JA83RC also had a small decal of the drawings on its front door for the duration of the initiative. As the decision was delayed a new scheme based on a rainbow was unveiled in 2021 (see #2).
