Following Qantas in 2003, Alliance also celebrated Charles Kingsford Smith 's maiden Pacific crossing onboard the 'Southern Cross' Fokker F.VII between May 31 and June 09, 1928. Alliance Airlines is headquartered in Brisbane Eagle Farm, precisely where "Smithy" landed its Fokker aircraft in 1928. This aircraft retraced the final part of that historic flight and landed at Brisbane Airport at 10:50 am, exactly 90 years to the minute of the historic Southern Cross land. Alliance is also a sizeable Fokker aircraft operator. The airline also teamed up with Newstead Brewing to offer an exclusive Alliance Airlines beer onboard its aircraft - the “Smithy’s FGB” Golden Ale.
