Negaraku means "My Country" in Malay and is the name of the country's national anthem. In the 2017 context it is the name of the new national initiative, dubbed a "nationwide movement driven by Malaysians for all Malaysians with the objective of fostering unity among all and inspiring the spirit of patriotism.

The first ATR in the livery (MWC) was unveiled in late August 2017, just in time for the 60th "Hari Merdeka" Independence Day taking place on 31 August. Note MWC initially wore the old MASwings scheme while MWF always sported the updated version.
