Michel Mirabal is a contemporary Cuban plastic artist who is known, among others, for its representation of Cuban flags created from painted petals and barbed wire. He was commissionned by US virtual airline Havana Air to adapt artwork from its 'Banderas' series; the port side is based on the US flag, the starboard side on the Cuban flag. The initiative was to celebrate the reinstatement of stronger ties between the two countries.

Eastern Air Lines' involvement in Havana Air operations however came to an early end in late 2017 and the aircraft continued to fly in this scheme while regaining standard Eastern titles. After the demise of Eastern and the transfer of the fleet to Swift Air, the plane finally lost its special paint.
