Baotou also known as Bugthot is the largest industrial city in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of northern China. The city’s Mongolian name means «place with deer» and an alternate name is «Lucheng», meaning «Deer City».
This livery is a result of a partnership with the Baotou City People's Government to advertise the city as a touristic destination. The scheme was created in a way to match the Sui and Tang dynasties mural art, showing Inner Mongolia prairie scenery with deers. Typical Inner Mongolia Little Yellow Bird can be seen on the engines. The winglets are decorated with auspicious Mongolian Obo totem flags.
