The mascot of the Expo was a red character named Chang’an Flower which could be seen on all three aircaft painted for the event. Xi'An was once known as Chang’an (Eternal Peace); the city marks the Silk Road’s eastern end and is of particular historical significance, with many archaeological sites in the area.
