Saka no Ue no Kumo (literally Cloud over the hill) is a Japanese TV drama series. November 2009 marked the release of the first episode of this three-year NHK television special drama series based on the historical novel by Shiba Ryōtarō. The novel is set in the Meiji period and focuses on three characters from the city of Matsuyama, following their lives from childhood until the Russo-Japanese War of 1904–05.
