The Lord of the Rings is a film series consisting of three high fantasy adventure films directed by Peter Jackson. New Zealand's beautiful landscapes served as the scenery of the "Middle-Earth", and Air New Zealand capitalized on the success of the first film by joining the marketing team of the second and third movies, helping to boost the country's attractivity worldwide.
This fourth aircraft was unveiled in November 2003 in time for the release of the third opus The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King and featured the Éowyn character played by Miranda Otto as well as Arwen (Liv Tyler).
