The Lord of the Rings is a film series consisting of three high fantasy adventure films directed by Peter Jackson. New Zealand's beautiful landscapes served as the scenery of the "Middle-Earth", and Air New Zealand capitalized on the success of the first film by joining the marketing team of the second and third movies, helping to boost the country's attractivity worldwide.
This first aircraft was unveiled in December 2002 in time for the release of the second opus
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and featured the Frodo character played by Elijah Wood.
